Trimming grass
CAUTION: Blades coast after turn off.
In order to achieve optimum cutting results, only cut dry grass.
Hold the tool as shown in fig. F & G. Keep your other hand well
away from the blade. Maintain a
stable working position so that you
do not slip. Do not overreach.
When cutting long grass, work in
stages from the top. Take small cuts.
Keep the tool away from hard
objects and delicate plants.
If the tool starts running slowly,
reduce the load.
Tomakeaclosercut,slightlytilt thetool.
Spraythebladewithalightcoatingof
generalpurposeoilbeforefirstuseand
wheneverthebladesbegintolookdry.
Trimming hedges
CAUTION: Blades coast after turn off.
Slightly tilt the tool(up to 15°relative tothe line ofcut)so that theblade
tipspointslightly towards the hedge
(fig. H).This will cause the blades to
cutmore effectively.
Start bytrimmingthe top ofthe hedge.
Holdthe tool at thedesiredangleand
moveit steadilyalongthe line ofcut.
Thedouble-sided blade allowsyou to
cutin either direction.
In order to obtain avery straightcut,
stretch apieceof string along the
length ofthe hedge at thedesired
height. Use thestringas aguideline,
cutting just above it.
In order to obtain flat sides, cut upwards with thegrowth(fig.I).
Youngerstems move outwardswhen the blade cuts downwards,
causing shallow patchesin the hedge.
Takecare to avoid anyforeign objects.
Especiallyavoid hard objectssuch as
metal wireand railings, asthese could
damage theblades.
Regularly oil the blades.
